Besides the amazing story, the incredible fights and abilities expected in shonen anime, and the play on heroes and villains, there is a deeper side to My Hero Academia that attracts many people. The emotional connections in this series are very much appreciated, both in the animation and in the manga. The future heroes of UA High School often need the help of their friends to overcome difficulties, and the bonds formed are very strong.
This series also does an excellent job of showing that people are not always one-dimensional. Each character has many facets, and it’s refreshing to see that no one is completely good or bad. The heroes sometimes make mistakes, but they always try to learn from them.🤯
The characters care about each other, and it is clear that they would do anything to protect each other. This is especially visible in the relationship between Midoriya and All Might. Midoriya considers All Might his hero, and All Might cares for Midoriya like a son. The bond between these two characters is one of the strongest in the series.
It is also worth mentioning that, although it is a shonen anime, My Hero Academia is not afraid of difficult subjects. The series tackles discrimination, prejudice and social injustice head on. It is clear that the creators of this series want to send a message of hope and acceptance to its students. 10) Denki Kaminari and Minoru Mineta
The odd couple in this unusual pairing is one of the most entertaining platonic couples in the series, and their interactions always brighten everyone’s day.
They are constantly concocting not-so-heroic pranks for Class 1-A, as they have a common interest in pranks and girls. They’re not alike either, as they don’t share many character traits aside from their taste for evil, and Mineta isn’t well regarded by fans. But it’s the fact that they don’t seem to be related that makes their relationship so strong, and adds something unique to the show.
9) Momo Yaoyorozu and Kyoka Jiro
Two of the closest companions of the 1-A class are Momo Yaoyorozu and Kyoka Jiro. The duo has shown that they are more than capable of acting alone on several occasions, but their cooperation was especially effective during the USJ arc and the Hero Provisional License Exam arc.
Both in and out of combat, they have a lot of chemistry. Not only do they work well in the field, but their social interactions off the field are also excellent. They almost always enjoy each other’s company, spend time together and are usually there for each other. It’s a beautiful friendship that many fans would love to have.
8) Kyoka Jiro and Denki Kaminari
From the beginning, fans have been eager to see the bond between Kyoka Jiro and Denki Kaminari develop. Their friendship really blossomed when they had to collaborate for the school festival, where each class had to perform.
It was there that they discovered their common love for music, and Kyoka impressed Denki with her musical abilities. Their friendship has become one of encouragement and support, but also a time when they have no trouble getting on each other’s nerves for fun. They even have hairpieces with the same accent that they both wear, which symbolise their Alters and are similar in design.
7) Katsuki Bakugo and Eijiro Kirishima
Although they are diametrically opposed in many ways, this dynamic duo works well together. Eijiro Kirishima is loud, sociable and popular among his peers, while Katsuki Bakugo is emotional, sensitive and has trouble making friends.
Although Bakugo sometimes thinks he doesn’t need such help, it seems that the two were destined to be friends since the entrance exam. They even based their hero names on the same idols. Despite their differences, the two complement each other and help each other grow.
6) Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and Eijiro Kirishima
Normally, when characters have opposing personalities, their interactions quickly turn sour. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and Eijiro Kirishima, on the other hand, do not let their differences define them. In fact, these two are surprisingly comparable in many ways, so their relationship was not unexpected. They both have a mentor, similar goals and aspirations, and their alters are identical.
It wasn’t until the AU Sports Festival Fighting Competition that they truly became friends. Their burning passion and passionate personalities resonate not only with each other, but also with their classmates.
5) Itsuka Kendo and Neito Monoma
It is unusual for Itsuka Kendo and Neito Monoma, from class 1-B, to be friends. They complement each other well, despite their differences. Monoma’s competitiveness sometimes increases when he’s in the presence of Class 1-A – whom he likes to mock and yet fears – but Itsuka Kendo is not fooled by his facade. Instead, it is she who brings him to his senses and keeps him in line.
Despite their different views, the two men remain close friends. Kendo is able to detect when Monoma is just trying to appear tough or when he is truly disturbed by something behind his scowl.
Despite Monoma’s criticisms, Kendo takes them in stride and doesn’t let them get in the way, which shows that their friendship goes beyond his insults. Kendo also has his own taunts for when Monoma is too critical, which helps illustrate that their relationship is one of mutual respect.
4) Tsuyu Asui and Ochaco Uraraka
Although the students in class 1-A are extremely close, Tsuyu Asui and Ochaco Uraraka are the closest. Because they have both had a rather similar lonely history, they understand and appreciate each other more than others might think.
During the forest training saga, Tsuyu comforted Uraraka, who was afraid. They frequently use their doubles to defend, protect and soothe each other, which shows how strong their friendship is.
3) Eijiro Kirishima and Mina Ashido
Because they participate in the Sports Festival together, Ashido and Kirishima have developed a close friendship and are frequently seen together. One of the nice aspects of this relationship is that Ashido is always there for Kirishima and encourages him to become a better hero, even if he still has difficulties with himself or his alter.
The other character becomes aware that he is not superior to others who have flashier alterations, and that all he needs to do to become a great hero is to believe in himself. Throughout the series, viewers see the two men defending and protecting each other, complimenting each other on their talents and abilities, and teasing each other to release tension.
2) Izuku Midoriya and Ochaco Uraraka
Despite the fact that Izuku and Ochaco have never met, their friendship has quickly developed a fan base. Since Izuku saved Ochaco Uraraka from a robot, and then saved him from a very long fall during the college entrance exam, they have formed a bond that fans would envy. They’ve become quite close since those events. During the AU Academy Sports Festival, Izuku and Ochaco worked together to defeat the Monoma team using their quirks against each other. This showed the trust they had in each other, as well as how far they were willing to go to help each other.
They inspire and motivate each other to be the best they can be, not only pushing each other to be the best they can be, but also training them to compete against each other. The common traits they share are tenacity and passion for life. They also have many personality traits in common, including their shared stubbornness. There is a fire burning in each of them.
1) Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo
It all started when the boys were kidnapped and held for ransom. Their kidnapping came as a shock to the trio, who had no idea what to expect. But their situation helped form a friendship that would last a lifetime, as did their determination to escape their captors.
The beauty of such a strong relationship is that these buddies can help, defend, and argue (and fight) for each other. These three people understand that if they need help, they can count on each other.
Even if they cannot be physically present for each other, their loyalty and friendship will always remain. The night of the escape was a turning point for the three boys. They had to rely on each other to make it out alive. And they did. Since then, they have been inseparable. The experience brought them together and made them the friends they are today.
